In 2012, Oscar Rodríguez received a prophetic word in the Amazon: 'Mobilize young people into the mission field and start a mission ministry.'

Confused by the message and his surroundings, Oscar questioned what it meant to be a missionary and whether this calling was truly for him. He was desperate to understand God's will.
Soon after, God answered him through scripture, confirming his call to missions: 'Ask me, and I will make the nations your inheritance, the ends of the earth your possession.' (Psalms 2:8)

Filled with passion and burdened to fulfill his calling, Oscar became more sensitive to the vulnerable circumstances many families in and outside of Colombia faced. He pondered how to improve their quality of life and help them. This question prompted him to take action and step into what God had planned for him.

And like that RESCUE was born in 2013.
A group of friends with a passion for Christ started a mission movement to impact Colombia intentionally. They were 12 young people wanting to contribute their grain of sand to achieve a transcendental change for their generation. In their first mission, 200 people received the Lord in their hearts and were saved, which showed them the favor of God they were walking in and encouraged them to strive more for missions to be the inheritance of the church.

As they walked in their calling, they noticed the challenge of changing the mentality of people who had lost the fire in their hearts over time as Christians. Many were only focused on their own benefits and had neglected what truly mattered: loving one another in action, being generous with their time, gifts, and resources.
The verse, 'If you have the power to do good, don’t refuse to do it to those who need it; don’t say to your neighbor, ‘Go away and come back tomorrow, then I will give you what you need,’ if you have what to give to him with you,' became the motto that inspired RESCUE to have a heart ready to go, love, and serve.

RESCUE's primary goal is to carry the gospel and humanitarian support to every corner of the earth, impacting nations and reaching the most vulnerable families, including those in indigenous or Afro-Colombian communities, immigrants, the displaced, and those living in extreme poverty. By 2018, RESCUE had reached over 8 countries, empowering churches, fostering unity between different cities, organizing medical brigades, hosting gatherings, and distributing groceries and gifts to children, youth, and adults.
Rescue continues to work on various projects, unwilling to be content with past achievements for Jesus. Our goal is to raise generations passionate about the gospel, win souls for Christ, reach all parts of the world, and capture the hearts of those desperate to see change in their lives. In doing so, every small part that makes up God's vision for Rescue paves the way to save whole families for God and lift them out of the extreme poverty in which they live.
RESCUE will continue to impact the nations and contribute to a visible change in the vulnerable population
